This is Chapter 8 of my serial JACK OF DIAMONDS. This chapter is called THE ACHE OF A WOMAN”S DESIRE. It has sex in it, but in a racy sort of way.
“There’s nuffing to see in ‘ere. It’s all sex games an’ teasing, in ‘ere; move along.”
There’s nothing graphic in it, but if you’re uncomfortable with the idea of forced sex— between consenting, married, adults — by all means, skip it. (It’s just a game, sheesh.) In no way am I forcing you to read it. I’m also not trying to write porn here. I was never able to write sex scenes when I was younger because my mother was still alive. (Probably a hold-over of my Catholic guilt.) She lived to be 96, though. She was a widow for over 20 years, She told me her favourite TV show was RED SHOE DIARIES. She also told me she was a faithful follower.
I mean they say sex sells, right. But does it? To a degree, I suppose. People like a teasing story. People still read sizzling best sellers. So the question is. Does Substack consider Harold Robbins fiction, to be porn? Where do they draw the line? Writers need to know. If TV can present gritty realism, how can you tie the writer’s hands by telling him he can’t write clearly undefined porn?
We do allow depictions of nudity for artistic, journalistic, or related purposes, as well as erotic literature…
Which means, you can show THE BIRTH OF VENUS and other works of Art, but no PLAYBOY centrefolds…and you can write erotic literature.
Well…I guess we’ll find out.
