THIS IS GOING UP BEHIND THE PAYWALL!
If you just started reading this and it suddenly disappeared, that’s because I had to take it down by deleting it, and starting all over again. I hit the wrong button and accidentally took the paywall down. A dumb mistake on my part. And I had something down here about nudity, and bad language, and all sorts of things I had to say, that doesn’t really matter anymore.
There’s no nudity or bad language in this. That’s for later. Artie is the cad and the womanizer. This isn’t about him.
Anyway, it’s still going up behind the PAYWALL.
I’d like to announce the entry behind the paywall of a good friend of ours whom we’ve known for years. She’s one of those people the kids still call Auntie, even though he’s 38 and she’s 35, and they don’t see each other socially. It’s nice to see how the manners and respect you teach them when they’re younger, actually stick sometimes.
So, before I ditch off behind the paywall, let me just tell you that if you want to read this, you’ll have to up-grade to PAID. It’s not as bad as it sounds. It’s $30/year…CANADIAN. What’s that? $22 US? How about a little more than a dime a day?
And what do you get for $30/year?
Well, you get to read this story, for one thing!
Here’s the plan. At the moment I have $482 in the kitty. That works out to $40/month that SUBSTACK sends to me. Not a huge amount, but it has the potential to grow. My plan is to print up 3 books a year and mail them to my PAID subscribers. All you have to do is send me a postcard from wherever in the world you live, and put you address on the back. I mail you the book. But I need at least $2000. That means I need about 50 more PAID subscribers. At $30 for the year? That’s a pretty good deal.
WHAT ELSE DO I GET?
WELL…you get full access to the Archives. I think they go behind the wall after about six months. You can read my other novel A BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO TIME TRAVEL. That’s a story I wrote for the NaNoWriMo challenge, two years ago. They challenge you to write 50,000 words. I wrote 92,000. I needed the extra time. As well, there’s the other serial I was working on: THE SHIELD OF LOCKSLEY. I put that story on hold for a while. (I needed time away from it. Sometimes, you get too close to a story and can’t see it clearly in your head anymore. That’s where I was with it, so I had to take a step back.)
Anyway…let’s get the story out, and the wall UP!
