In every PART of this story, one chapter is divided into “sections.” In PART ONE, it was Chapter Four, which was 6 little sections of about 1500-2000 words each. In PART TWO, it was Chapter 19, which was 5 sections. PART THREE is no different, if not a little more ambitious, as it is about 10 sections in length. There’s no real reason as to why I’ve done it this way, it just seemed like a good idea at the time. But PART THREE introduces a couple of new characters, from both LE MORTE D’ARTHUR, and history itself. You see, the problem is that in LE MORTE D’ARTHUR, Mallory has Arthur going to war with Rome. In reality, that never happened. So how do you rectify that? You go back to the historical moment in time where your story takes place. And when is mine? You know, I just picked a date out of the air and told myself this is when it is. 534…ish. And what happened that year? The Pope died. And how great is that! Sometimes, things just work out. The fantasy and the myth actually match up to the reality of history itself.
And how does that work, you ask?
Well, you see, you can have a huge conspiracy built around the idea that the Pope has gathered a large army as is about to invade Arthur’s Briton. Everything can be built around the idea, including the conspiracy against Arthur by factions within his own realm. But then, the Pope dies and it’s too late to call things off. It’s really quite the exciting moment for the writer when he’s doing the research and trying to think of how he’s going to get himself out of the corner he’s painted himself in. And then, and then…and then there is so much more going on.
As I said, there’s so much more going on in here than you can imagine. History, pathos, comedy, tragedy, romance, it has it all. Anyway, I hope you stick around and read PART THREE — I mean, I hope you up-grade. The people that are reading PART THREE have already up-graded, and they’re not leaving.
