You know this is paywalled, right?

THE SHIELD OF LOCKSLEY is a supported publication—that means you have to pay for it. To receive new posts and support me and my work, get a membership to The Portal Club. It’s $30 for the year, or, $10/month

I read two ‘Stacks today, got about a thousand words into them, only to find out they were paywalled. That is so frustrating. This is going out to my PAID subscribers. There’s lot of room there, because, well, I’ve lost two Paid Subscribers, but…it is what it is, right? So grab a membership to The Portal Club and come join us. We have cookies here.

Anyway, this is one of those chapters that’s divided into sections. There’s only five subsections with this one, but still, I think it works. Things are moving along slowly here. We’re looking to get our middle bathroom redone, as well as the tiled entryway, but things got pushed back with our nephew’s death, and then our contractor’s mother got sick, and, well, there’s not much worse than that, is there? Luckily, she’s fine.

But the wife has got a couple of weeks off starting this coming weekend, and I promised her that we’d go visit our friend Al, or, as she likes to call him: “My boyfriend.” That’s because he’s the most decent man alive in her opinion. So what I’m saying is that it’s very possible I might not be able to get half the shit done that I want. I’ll have to start writing my STORIES, AFTER EIGHT entry and get it read out before Saturday. The problem with that is I’ve found myself distracted by You Tube videos, and then suddenly found myself falling into a rabbit hole of inappropriate videos. (You know the kind I mean? Even old bastards like me can’t stop looking. What’s that all about?) Anyway, too much information. I got distracted, and as a result, I’ve fallen behind. But she’s been working six and seven day weeks for the last couple of weeks, and needs to get away. So I’m taking her away.

In the meantime, let’s get this out so my paying customers have something to read…
