THE SHIELD OF LOCKSLEY
Chapter 29: TWO KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE...is exactly what it says. But who are they, and what do they have to offer? Don't let the sex distract you...
We’re up to Chapter 29, and this is still paywalled.
You know it is, so I’ll tell you some other news…
I discovered, or maybe realized, that I can do readings live. But you need to have a phone and the Substack app to do it, and the problem is, that I’ve never had a phone. That’s why it’s never been an issue.
However…
Last month the wife got a new phone for herself because she gets some sort of a discount from work. I said I’d take her old phone, but I said only wanted it for the camera. I told her that as long as it has the internet and I can use the camera, I could use it to make videos when I go out to downtown Vancouver.
This morning I got an email saying you can do live videos on Substack. It was from January, so I guess it was sort of a reminder. And good thing. All you had to do was open your phone, it said. I looked at it and picked it up. I opened up the Substack app…and it worked.
So here’s what I’m thinking of doing. Do I get up at 7:00 am on Sunday Morning and do a live reading of my STORIES, AFTER EIGHT? You see, I put it out at 8:00 a.m. That means, I’d have to shower and get dressed like I was goin’ out t’ church an’ wearin’ my Sunday best. Problem with that is, I’d have to get up on Sunday and be motivated. Sometimes, I drinks a bit, and I still puff on a bong once in a while. (It’s okay, it’s legal here. And it being Sunday, just think of it as God’s Green Grass.) On the lighter side, I am somewhat of an insomniac. It would be a bonus if it wasn’t so bad for my health. (I’m almost at that point in my life where I’m not going to leave a very good looking corpse.) Apparently smoking dope, drinking, and eating good food aren’t good for you in the long run. If I would’ve known I was going to live this long, I would’ve taken better care of myself.
So the prospect of getting out of bed and stepping into the shower at 7:00 in the morning on a Sunday, doesn’t sound too exciting. But then again, the idea of doing a live broadcast on what I’m calling my mock TV Station (BTC-TV Channel 13) — complete with a fictitious production company: A Lugnut/Loose-Wheel production, is almost too tempting to walk away from. But I’d want to be able to put an introduction in, with a theme song. You know, make it look real and legit.
Let me know what you think. Should I do a live reading this upcoming Sunday? Tell me in the comments.
