The Deeds of Mercy
his first came out back in August of 2022. I had a total of 31 Subscribers then. I rereleased it some time last year I believe — I could go looking through my files, but that would take too long.
It’s religious satire, if it’s anything. Thing is, when I wrote it, I didn’t care what anyone thought — you know, blasphemy and all that stuff. To be honest, I still don’t. Religion has something for everyone. I’d been raised a Catholic — or was starting to be raised a Catholic — when my father turned his back on the Church because they change the Latin Liturgy to English. I was too young to understand what it was all about. I didn’t care because now I had a free day.
But I got older and when I was doing research for my Roman epic, I dove deep into religion. I don’t care for “organized” religion. It’s a cash grab if it’s anything. Maybe it had something to do with the Televangelists asking for money? Whatever my feelings, I still wrote this story. And writing it, I knew I couldn’t poke fun at just one religion. It had to be the big three — like the car companies.
And the Devil? How can you write a story about Armageddon and not have the Devil in it? Right
? So here it is, the End of the World as we know it…
