A blast from the past

As some of you may know, THE SHIELD OF LOCKSLEY is not my first Serial. In all honesty, this one is. I started it when I was writing on Vocal.media, which I was happy to leave because they were too censorious. I couldn’t write this story the way I wanted to, so I came here, quite by accident, and never went back to Vocal.

This is something I wrote for myself as a challenge. I didn’t know what to write when I was on Vocal, and thought I should write this, which had been rolling around in the ole brain-box for a couple of years. I plan to get back to it once I’m finished with Locksley. I plan to edit this once I finish Locksley. I should have about ten months to work on it. We’ll see how that goes.

Anyway, he’s a thief. His name is Artemus Spencer, but he’s called Jack of Diamonds. He’s into Buildering. That’s those guys and gals you see climbing up the side of buildings, using gutter pipes and window sills, jumping from balcony to balcony, until they reach the roof. Look it up when you get the time. The story takes place in 1923. Go ahead, ask me why. No alarms.

It has the original introduction to it which you can decide to read if you want. But he’s the ultimate anti-hero. He’s a liar, a thief, a cheat, and a womanizer…all the qualities you want in a friend.
