I’m loving this story. I appreciate you drawing in the age-old use of sex, the issue of feminism and the dance these two are doing. I can’t wait to see where it will go.

Superb writing, Ben. I like the way you advance the relationship almost entirely through dialog. I can see how some might be put off with the sexual descriptions, however. You did give a bit of warning in the intro so it will be up to the reader to decide whether or not to read further. I believe you have a rare talent and always enjoy your stories. The particular scene in this story can be seen as an indicator as to how this partnership will proceed so I would not consider it gratuitous. Keep up the good work, brother. I really admire your energy.

I am sticking with Locksley and with the Dawn Patrol, but Jack of Diamonds? No can do! Yikes.! I am not your reader on this one. Way to graphic for me. I have also been hanging in with T. Dalton Wolf's "Education of Lisa Rose", but I am on the edge of letting that one go too. The subject is too much for my old head. EXCELLENT WRITING, though.

That's too bad. Sure, it has sex, but it's not graphic. I was planning to alternate the two serials for a time, but that might be too much, even for me. I wanted to put JACK OF DIAMONDS up because when I originally wrote it, I only had 30 subscribers. (You're basically comped for life, btw.) And like I said, my SHORT STORIES AFTER 8 will always be for my FREE subscribers. THE DAWN PATROL will finish some time in April. It's got a few more surprises in store. My next story should be shorter (a novelette rather than a novella). JACK OF DIAMONDS is first, an adventure story. He's a broken character because of the War. He's already in trouble before the story even starts. That's the reason he's in the countryside to begin with. Things just seem to escalate from there. You don't have to read it, but maybe you might keep an eye on it?

You are right. This story has huge value. I need to change my focus in the reading of it, that's all and think of the big picture.
