I’m sorry, MURRAY, but JACK OF DIAMONDS will have to be going on Hiatus for a time. I know, I know, you keep telling me how much you enjoy it, but I want you to also consider THE SHIELD OF LOCKSLEY in the meantime. I have to put Jack aside because I also promised one of my other PAID subscribers that I would be returning to Locksley. I will not be putting up my SERIAL NOVELS on Wednesdays while I am away from my desk. I’ve taken the PAYWALL down instead, so SUBSCRIBERS and FOLLOWERS alike can READ and catch up on THE SHIELD OF LOCKSLEY before deciding if they want to up-grade.
When I do return from Hiatus, the PAYWALL will be going back up, and Locksley will be returning to the Wednesday time slot. I don’t really have plans to READ my Serial Novels out in the future, but let’s not close that door just yet. As readers, that’s up to you. The reason I’m putting the PAYWALL back up is because there are only 20 PAID readers, and they deserve to get what no one else is getting. (Remember, SUNDAY’S AAFTER EIGHT will ALWAYS be FREE.) If you want in on the SERIALS, just sign up. It’s only $30 for the whole year. (Don’t complain, I know you’ve pissed more than that up against the wall on a Friday night out.)
I’m only about 1/3 of the way to my goal of mailing my PAID Subscribers a copy of my novella THE BASHFUL COURTESAN. (I’ve got about $700 saved, and need closer to $2200.) That’s hoping the prices don’t go up too much. Unless people SUBSCRIBE, it looks like it might be another two years (at this pace) before I can get the story printed up and mailed out.
Unless some of you step up, it will remain an unfulfilled dream. I don’t want to self-publish on Amazon, or Kindle; I like the idea of Print On Demand better. I don’t want to make an eBook, because as readers, you deserved to hold a REAL book…and a collector’s item as well.
While I am on my little hiatus of one month, I will continue to post my latest novella THE TRUTH OF WHO WE ARE on SUNDAY’S, AFTER EIGHT, which I also think is a better title, so let’s stick with that, okay? I will be posting a reading, as well as the written text underneath. I have another story waiting in the wings that I wrote some time ago, but never finished, so I’ll work on that and get it ready as I prepare to write a new story.
I have a germ of an idea, and told my wife I was thinking about “Comfort girls.” Captured women forced to work in brothels for the Japanese during the Second World War—some of whom were Dutch. I love it when I get the germ of an idea and work on it in my head. You never know what you’re going to come up with.
I wanted to let you know what was happening. I’m coming up on the 2nd anniversary of my Stack, and I still have high hopes for it, as well as myself. My take on King Arthur’s Camelot is a little different from others you may have come across. It has sex, and violence, swearing, drinking whoring, fighting, and some of the finer qualities of being a Knight in the early Middle Ages.
I’m writing this and sending it out to all of my Subscribers rather than sending it out as a Note. (As Subscribers did you know you can read NOTES as well? I know some of you didn’t know that.) Let me know what you think in the comments below.
By the way Murray, if you’re still here and haven’t tossed your laptop to the floor, I will be putting the last JACK OF DIAMONDS post up for you this Wednesday. And if you’re wife reads it first and asks for a foot rub, you’ll know why…
