Excellent writing,Ben. I wouldn't change a thing. Geeze, family dynamics! So darned complicated!

This so exactly captures the way people talk in a hospital waiting room, ignoring the elephant in the room but letting their emotions erupt in roundabout conversations. You really get the family dynamics across. The only criticism I have is that the ending is rather abrupt and doesn't terminate the situation. Or maybe that's the point. That's where the characters are.

Excellent, Ben. I'm sure many of us have gone through these situations before and the conversations and emotions you've captured here ring true.

Thanks Jim. The older you get, the more dead people you know. It's a sad fact of life, and something we all go through whether we want to or not.

Great stuff, very true to the situation.

Lots of names in this one, but it's OK. It's a panicky, nervous situation, and everybody gets everything out in a jumble. This is one case where the confusion is the story. Good job, Ben.
